Okay, so a bracketed hash mark or pound sign above the number 3 on a keyboard 
is not an option?  I was looking for something visually distinct and it turned 
out the OCR converted all the blue circles to pound signs, so all I would have 
to do is bracket them.  Like this:

If that is not readable in Braille, I can swap to 2 asterisks, but that will 
not stand out as well.

Thanks for the feedback, though; this is what I need to know...
