[bksvol-discuss] is it of use to do the changes before submitting to Bookshare?

I have just finished my scan of "Mayor of MacDougal Street: A Memoir" by Dave
Van Ronk with Elijah Wald.

It was a beautiful scan, and the ranked spelling is all done, and even yes, the
index.

I was thinking of trying for my first time to follow the Tips in the manual
where you do the replacements etc
Where you open the file in Word and do the search and replace all of the
various things like smart quotes and such that I hear some of you have been
talking about.

Before I do it, though, I wanted to make sure it is desired. Or if really when
I send up and upload it, and submit the RTF file of the book. Will those
cnanges be retained?

I guess before I spend the time to do the extra mile, I want to be sure that I
am not doing it for no reason.

Thanks.

Rik James
