Hi,

I'm with Carrie in this. I have two Benetech addresses-
allisonh@xxxxxxxxxxxx and allison.h@xxxxxxxxxxxx and they both forward to
hillikera@xxxxxxxxxx So wherever you send your message I will receive it. Just letting you all know in order to avoid any
possible confusion.

Best,
Allison

All email addressed to my benetech addresses (carriek@xxxxxxxxxxxx and
carrie.k@xxxxxxxxxxxx) gets forwarded to my Yahoo address
(ckarnos@xxxxxxxxx), so I will get messages wherever I happen to be. This
is left over from my days as a volunteer, but I like having all my email
in one place, rather than hopping from website to website to find the
messages.

Carrie

This really is ixciting, Carrie. So if we
want you to kick a book back, we email you offlist, of course? Do we use
your yahoo address for this, or do you have a benetech address and woould
like
for us to use that?

Thanks,

Sue S.

Mayrie, you're right on both counts. We keep both the original and the
validator's copy. Gold star for you!

Hi Sue,

What a good question. My bet is that they have both
somewhere. Just a guess. And I'll bet Carrie knows!

Peace,
Mayrie

Well, I just thought of something. Would the RTF file that Carrie kicks
back to Step 1 be the corrected copy, or the original? Which do they
keep??

E, Bhob, Carrie and all, I am really excited by the idea of being able to
fine tune the books in the collection now that we know they can be brought
back on step 1 in RTF format. I have been trying to think of the practical
way of accomplishing this so decided to open it up for discussion in order
to get others' ideas. I am primarily a braille reader, using my
BrailleNote
for this purpose. However, I scan and validate with Kurzweil. When I am
reading a book for pleasure on my BrailleNote, I realize I could keep a
running record with page numbers of errors encountered. If it turned out
that there were few enough that the book didn't need to be rescanned, I
could then ask Carrie to put it back on Step 1 and by means of the list of
the errors on my BrailleNote make the corrections. Has anyone thought of
other ways to accomplish this task? Jill
