I agree that they should notify you when they receive word that a book has been accepted. I was just thinking that I'm pretty sure there are some that are already in the collection that they may have forgotten to tell you about. If they could take a little while to do it now, it would shorten your work on reorganizing it. They should simply be able to do a find for their name, and make sure nothing's on there that hasn't already been accepted. I know about trying to search the collection, because I had started to do that, and planned on passing the ones I found on to you, but I didn't get very far before I stopped.

A lot of people have been doing that regularly, and I thank them all. I've tried to compare the list with the collection but the list is so long and books are getting added all the time. It's really too much to ask that people look at the list I think the easiest thing for everyone would be if people could let me know when they receive the notice that the book they scanned or proofed was added to the collection. Then no one would have to scan the whole list. I've tried to scan John's list of books added but I can't remember what's on my lists, sigh. When I did that list I was able to compare the books with both with the wish list and the being-scanned list and the people-who-requested the books and notify them, but my memory now isn't as good as it was several months agoCindyWish List (i.e., books wanted added to the collection) and books-being-scanned list available at sites belowWish List: https://wiki.benetech.org/display/BSO/Bookshare+Wish+ListBooks Being Scanned List: https://wiki.benetech.org/display/BSO/Books+Being+Scanned+List--- On *Fri, 7/31/09, Melissa Smith /<mdsmith25@xxxxxxxx>/* wrote: From: Melissa Smith <mdsmith25@xxxxxxxx> Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Re: books-being-scanned updated July 30 To: bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Date: Friday, July 31, 2009, 5:50 AM Yes, I think this would make your work much easier, Then you could just read down through the list and double check everything. I also think that it would be a good idea, especially now while Cindy's reorganizing, for each scanner to do a search for their names in the list, and let Cindy know which books are in the collection. I'm pretty sure that some of the books farther down on the list are probably already in the collection.
