If your braille display on the braillenote is not showing you junk characters, try changing your punctuation settings to show more punctuation. Please be sure to have "show end of lines" on so you can read the end of line marker. (in braille it is the ed sign in one cell followed by the letter p. similarly the page break is ed sign followed by f, and tab is ed sign followed by t. Please talk to me off list if you want to know how to search for end of line, tab and other characters.

You will do great work using this braille display in terms of catching details such as junk characters. Just keep asking questions until we get your settings correct and you will do great validating with the braillenote.

Dear Booksharians,

Recently, I've wanted to really start validating more books in order to help the collection. However, due to the fact I'm still in high school and a certain lack of income, the computer I validate on does not have Microsoft ^Word, and Wordpad won't do (especially for detecting garbage characters.) Neither, in fact, will the BrailleNote I have--a book I proofread was rejected due to junk characters which I am unable to see. Can anyone recommend a suitable free word processing tool, or at least a way to make what I have work better?
