Evan, This information is from the manual: "Even if you are sure the book is in the public domain, the original copyright information is required for all submissions." On one of the first books I submitted for Bookshare, the copyright had expired, but the year the book was copyrighted and the name of the original copyright holder was in the introduction to the book. As I recall, I wrote in the place on the submission form where you can place a note the fact that the book was now in the Public Domain. I think that I was very lucky that the original copyright information was in the book's introduction; otherwise, I suppose you would have to acquire it from the publisher. Lori C. Hey Guys, I've got this book here that doesn't have any copyright info in it. I wrote to the publisher to inquire about it. I ran into this situation before with a book that was published in 2008 and had no copyright info. I wrote to the publisher at that time and the publisher informed me that they did own the copyright to that book. However, in this case, the book was published in 1975. I wrote to the publisher and they tell me it's a public domain book. So what should I put into the copyright holder and copyright date fields? Maybe it's in the manual somewhere but I thought it might be easier to just inquire here as to whether any of you have run into this situation and if staff gave any guidance on it, or what the manual says if someone knows. Thanks much. Evan Evan
