[bksvol-discuss] What Do You Put into the Copyright Fields for a Public Domain Book?

Hey Guys, I've got this book here that doesn't have any copyright info in it. I
wrote to the publisher to inquire about it. I ran into this situation before
with a book that was published in 2008 and had no copyright info. I wrote to
the publisher at that time and the publisher informed me that they did own the
copyright to that book. However, in this case, the book was published in 1975.
I wrote to the publisher and they tell me it's a public domain book. So what
should I put into the copyright holder and copyright date fields? Maybe it's in
the manual somewhere but I thought it might be easier to just inquire here as
to whether any of you have run into this situation and if staff gave any
guidance on it, or what the manual says if someone knows.
