Mayrie's right. Usually in print books the only indication of a new paragraph
is that it is indented. However, sometimes there are line spaces, as Mayrie
said, between section, or, as in one of the books I'm proofing, occasional
paragraphs which change the topic more from what precedes it
For bookshare when there is a space between sections or paragraphs we put an
asterisk or two (or 3, depending what you want) as an indication.
Are you scanning or proofing what someone else has scanned? Sometimes I've
proofed files that seem to have a space between paragraph and I have to go to
the print book and see if that's just the scan and the space should not be
there.
