[bksvol-discuss] Re: Shelley; regarding A Dog To Trust: The Saga of a Seeing-Eye Dog

I wish I wasn't so broke, I would just buy it. I could buy with shipping for
under $8, and then donate it to the local library, but I've invested so much
in children's books that I can't justify it just for that purpose. Smiles.
You are right, however, it'll drive me nuts until I know. Like I said,
unfortunately I submitted it as-is, but I'm sure they would allow me to
upload an improved version if we knew it was missing something like that. It
is amazing how much the scanners do miss, and it is wonderful if a volunteer
scanner hangs onto the files in case a sighted person can augment the text
in an appropriate and allowable fashion, not to mention something more
essential that was originally here for sighted readers in particular.
Thinking about kids with dyslexia and organizational print difficulties, a
table of contents is almost essential. If you have a child with low vision
and learning disabilities is absolutely critical.

Thanks for understanding my convoluted description. I just wanted to do my
books justice.

Take care!

Valerie
