Some of those errors, like die for the, me for the wouldn't be caught
by a spell check, but only by reading (and, though it isn't one you've come
across,you've come across, thigh for though,or sigh for sight. smile
Definitely reject it and don't be sad about it. The only way people
will learn to be more careful is if their books aren't accepted. smile

Hi everyone!
I'm not one to complain, most of you know that, but I'm proofreading
a submission that has many ... and I do mean many, scanning errors. Many of
these could have been caught with a simple spell check.
I'm not trying to shirk my responsibilities as a proofreader, but
it's taken me three hours to read and correct 38 pages, and the corrections are
almost all scanning errors such as die for the, me for the, thiis for this,
thights for thoughts...
I've never rejected a book for a scan quality issue, and I hope I
never have to do so.
There now, I feel better.
