Hi Sue,

Mayrie is correct. Once you choose Disable in the Active Speech section of the Configuration settings, it will ask you if you are sure, because you will need a screen reader to use K1000 if you disable it. Just hit Yes, and K1000 will no longer speak.

Evan, or anyone else,

Is there a way to shut speech off in Kurzweil?  It is really loud, I can
tell by the vibration, and my son is complaining. I know how to shut speech
off in Jaws but not in Kurzweil.
