When I pulled into my drive around 7:30 this evening there was a group of Common Nighthawks swimming
around above me. I made a quick count of 130, then watched as they peeled away to join a MUCH larger
group south of me. That area of the sky was black with them. I have no idea how many there were, but
1,000 is as high as I can count.
A stop at the Brown Power Plant in Mercer County:
Least Sandpiper 2
Pectoral Sandpiper 1
Black Tern 10
