The two Whooping Cranes remain at their winter grounds outside of Nashville. I observed them this morning at a low of 8 degrees F. They were foraging in the thin ice and shallow waters but mostly kept their heads tucked under their wings. A life bird for me. Melissa Easley Murray, Ky.
