Went today. Struck out except for a few stragglers. Must have moved on this
past weekend. We were debating between Cecilia and Ewing Bottoms. Shudda gone
to latter.

There’s a firehouse at 37.663882, -85.991907 where you can usually find good
numbers of cranes. They are active late in the day when they come back from
feeding. You can park in their lot, but BE SURE to pull around the side of
the building away from the firehouse doors.
Also, you can sometimes find a big crowd of cranes at a pond near 37.708378,
-86.045440…look for three metals grain cribs on the south side of the road.
You can pull off the road in their gravel lane. The pond is some distance
from the road; a scope would help at that location.
Good luck,

Where in Cecelia do we find the flocks of sandhill cranes?

At approximately 1:35 p.m. this afternoon, David Roemer spotted 2 Whooping
Cranes in a flock of about 125 Sandhill Cranes. The birds flew relatively low
over Port Oliver boat ramp for about 3 to 5 minutes, then we watched the
birds thermal up and over Barren River Lake dam and head north. Cecelia or
southern Indiana might be a good place to look late this afternoon or
tomorrow morning.
