Rob Lane and I birded the Reelfoot area before and after Easter Dinner. Highlights: Tennessee - Black Bayou Handicapped Hunting Area (11:00am): Pectorial Sandpipers - 5 Least Sandpipers - 25 Greater Yellowlegs - 4 Snowy Egret - 2 Little Blue Heron - 5 Northern Shoveler - 2 Blue-wing Teal - 10 Wood Duck - 3 American Coot - 2 Wilson's Snipe - 4 Eastern Kingbird (on wire on approach road) - 1 Fish Crow - about 10 Also had 5 Loggerhead Shrikes at various points roadside on U.S. 412 between Jackson and Dyersburg. Kentucky Long Point Unit, Reelfoot 6:00 pm Greater Yellowlegs - 5 Lesser Yellowlegs - 20+ Least Sandpiper - at least 4 flocks of 25-30 came in and landed while we were watching - there had been none when we arrived. One flock flew only a few feet over our heads.
