Melissa and I made a late afternoon trip to Fulton County. Standing at the edge of Lake #9 before dark we saw several flocks of shorebirds on the move. A few stopped, some moved on but it was evident that shorebirds are on the move. Too bad the only remaining habitat in Fulton County is Lake #9. Birds of interest were: Wood Ducks Northern Bobwhite Great Egret - hundreds roosting at Lake #9 Snowy Egret Cattle Egret - 100+ Little Blue Heron- 25 Lesser Yellowlegs - 4 Solitary Sandpipers - 6 Semipalmated Sandpiper -2 Least Sandpiper-10 Pectoral Sandpiper-15 Short-billed Dowitcher - 8 Hap & Melissa Murray, KY ================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBERS============== The BIRDKY Mailing List requires you to sign your messages with first & last name, city, & state abbreviation. -------------------------------------------------- To post to this mailing list, send e-mail to: birdky@xxxxxxxxxxxxx -------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, send e-mail to: birdky-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject line. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Visit the Kentucky Ornithological Society web site at http://www.biology.eku.edu/kos.htm * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * BIRDKY List Manager: Gary Ritchison, Richmond, KY E-mail: gary.ritchison@xxxxxxx
