Three of us headed out this fine spring day to see what we could find out at
Shaker Village. We had a couple of nice finds, including what now looks like
the resident Loggerhead Shrike, since I have seen him in the same general area
over several years now. and a Vesper Sparrow at the end of the walk. Also had
lots of singing birds, including Meadowlarks, Song & Field Sparrows, Winter and
Carolina Wrens, Thrashers and Towhees and of course Robins, Cardinals and
Red-winged Blackbirds Spring is in swing! We ended with 39 species for the day.
