Happened to call Brian Wulker awhile ago as he was on his way to a viewing spot
for Comet Neowise, which I had sort of completely forgotten about past couple
of days. Louisville and Cincy cleared this afternoon with very unhazy sky only
obscured by a few high waves of cirrus clouds at sunset.
A couple of my cousins stopped by the farm, and we got surprisingly nice views
of the Comet from 10:00 - 10:30 pm. It is to the northwest, so not a ton of
light pollution here in the northeast part of the county.
Right at 10:00 pm, the International Space Station made a VERY bright pass
almost directly overhead; it had to be in view for more than five minutes.
We finished off the evening with nice scope views of Jupiter and Saturn.
Oh ... and as far as birds, a young Great Horned Owl was screeching the whole
time.
