ASK had a good outing to Minor Clark Fish Hatchery. It was a very nice day and we ended up with 52 species as a group. Highlights included an Am Golden-Plover, Baird's Sandpipers, Yellow-throated, Worm-eating, Prothonotary, Chestnut-sided, Yellow and Common Yellowthroat, 3 species of vireo. A couple of us put the kayaks in upstream of Cave Run Lake and added, Broad-winged Hawk, Pileated Woodpecker and Rock Pigeons. I then finished off the day at a Swift Night Out, heading to the top of the Annex garage in Lexington. We added a Peregrine Falcon chasing the pigeons around and eventually observed about 80 swifts heading into roost, once we figured out what roost they were using. Here is a link to some of the photos from the day. All in all a pretty good one.
