Jerry drove me around Freeman on this very, very rainy morning and we were not
disappointed. Not much water fowl action, but there was a very large flock of
Blue-winged Teals and one lonely Northern Shoveler. I have decided that the
shoveler might be the mysterious Cinnamon Teal I spotted last week. In the
transitional eclipse plumage the shoveler has a very dark hind end and bright
white outlines.
As we made our way towards the dog park we started seeing warblers in
abundance. Sorry, I am not getting wet, but did manage to ID several species
from the vehicle.
Hope y’all stay dry. We are going to stay in and watch some football!
