Thanks for the feedback folks. It is still here, hanging out with the Field
Sparrows, this morning.
I also posted a photo of a Lincoln’s and Song Sparrow together that I took this
morning. The Lincolns landed on the path in front of me, right at sunrise. As
I was trying to get a photo, the Song landed right behind the Lincoln’s. The
Song is a little out of focus, but it provides a nice comparison.

This evening, I finally got a short video and a few still photos of an odd
Sparrow that I’ve seen hanging out with the Field Sparrows, in the pond
thicket (Flickr links follow). It’s the same size as the Field Sparrows and
it’s demeanor and behavior seems wrong for a Chipping; it raises its crest in
a way that’s uncharacteristic for a Chipping. I’m thinking Clay-colored, but
am looking for confirmation. The 8-10 second video is the first.
