This evening, I finally got a short video and a few still photos of an odd
Sparrow that I’ve seen hanging out with the Field Sparrows, in the pond thicket
(Flickr links follow). It’s the same size as the Field Sparrows and it’s
demeanor and behavior seems wrong for a Chipping; it raises its crest in a way
that’s uncharacteristic for a Chipping. I’m thinking Clay-colored, but am
looking for confirmation. The 8-10 second video is the first.
