I wanted to share the results of our 2017 Kentucky Bald Eagle Nest Count. A
detailed report is available upon request.
It was a great year for bald eagles in Kentucky! Growth in bald eagle nest
numbers continued in 2017, with 164 nests documented. Twenty new territories
(where eagles have not been documented in any previous years) were established
or located in 2017, many of which were in central Kentucky. The distribution
of bald eagle nests has become considerably more dense in central and eastern
Kentucky in recent years!
