Wednesday 10-8-2003 WKU woods, Bennett Rd., Bowling Green, Warren Co. This morning the woods were full of migrant warblers with Tennessee the most numerous. Their soft chips notes could be heard throughout the woods as I began my walk. Some adults were observed, but many were first fall birds. It was a great morning to be in the woods. Tennessee Warbler - (30+) Nashville Warbler - (3) Northern Parula - (4) one male singing! Chestnut-sided Warbler - (5) Magnolia Warbler - (8+) Cape May Warbler - (2) males Yellow-rumped Warbler - (5) Black-throated Green Warbler - (6) one fall adult male Pine Warbler - (1) male Bay-breasted Warbler - (10+) Black-and-White Warbler - (1) fall male also observed: Yellow-bellied Sapsucker (3), Golden-cr. Kinglet (1), White-eyed Vireo (2), Yellow-throated Vireo (1), Blue-headed Vireo (1), Scarlet Tanager (1) and Indigo Bunting (3). Jackie B.
