Just returned from a 4 day trip to Arizona, and did get to see the Black-capped Gnatcatchers at Patagonia Lake State Park. For anyone going to Tuscon, there is a Long-eared Owl at Tohono Chul Park off Ina Road. It sits in the only conifer tree by the outside tea room at the park. The waitress pointed it out before we sat down! The $5 fee is not charged to eat at the tea room and it was delightful to share a cup of tea with the roosting owl, and the Costa's hummers at tableside. The Rufous-backed Robin was in the herb garden at Boyce-Thompson Arboretum, se of Phoenix.
