I made it to Waitsboro yesterday afternoon with about an hour of light to scan the area. The Western Grebe had lots of company; it seemed to be resting peacefully amidst a fairly large raft of mostly divers. There were approx. 1000 birds strewn around the bend. The same species I was able to ID were still present today, except the Red-breasted Mergansers were gone and the number of birds was down.
