Joe, Megastar (and other software, I'm sure) gives measured radial veloties in the dialogue boxes for galaxies. One would expect galaxies in a group to have similar velocities. Here are some bright galaxies in a 1-degree field with NGC 1400/1407 and their velocities in km/s. NGC 1400 1762 NGC 1407 558 NGC 1383 1978 NGC 1391 -- NGC 1394 -- NGC 1393 2185 NGC 1402 -- It looks like NGC 1407 is well in the foreground of the other galaxies. There's not enough information from just the redshifts given in Megastar, but maybe NGC 1383 and NGC 1393 are in the same group with NGC 1400.
