You might try downloading Brian Workman's binary star orbit plotter
(http://www.saguaroastro.org/content/downloads.htm) if you are not already
familiar with it.

As for more updated data, the most recent stuff is on VizieR. Call catalog
b/wds/wds and input the WDS number (not the ID code) and you'll get the most
recent data, as the WDS is updated weekly on VizieR.

Try it now, Dick, and see if you get any joy. I think I needed better seeing
to dig out the companion. I didn't realize this was a "Sirius-pretender"!

I've been having a good time with some close doubles, getting down to 0.5
arcsec, which surprises me for Arizona.

BTW, your list of test doubles is good, but maybe dated. Porrima is much
more distant than your table indicates and I suspect many of the close ones
have changed a bit since you made the list. Do you have one for 2011 or
maybe a place to find current information for the doubles you list? Thanks!

I got it with an 8-inch SCT at 206x in 1998 from Kansas City. But then it
was 2.8". (It has moved 12" and 74 deg in PA since discovery in 1830.)

I tried to split tau Bootis, which is about 1.2 arcsec in separation, but
very unequal, and had no luck. Has anyone else tried it?
