[AZ-Observing] Interesting Refractor

Last night I watched a quality movie - It came from Outer Space. This
1950's movie had an interesting refractor. The Objective looked to be
about 6" diameter, but the eyepiece was the most interesting part of it.
There was the usual diagonal but in place of the eyepiece was what a
appeared to be a larger black diagonal orirented to face the eyepiece
like some kind of viewer. Interesting eyepiece.
