Is this the same as creating a TOC for only part of a
document (e.g. just
for one section)?

What I've done is create the TOC index using using
bookmarks and the TOC
field:
Select the entire section you want in your TOC and
assign it a bookmark name
Move the cursor to where you want to add the TOC, and
press Ctrl+F9 to
insert a field.
Inside the curly brackets, type: 'TOC \b bookmark',
where 'bookmark' is the
name of the bookmark.
Select the field you've just created and press F9 to
update it.
