I forgot to mention that { = ( -1 ) + { NUMPAGES } } is in fact 2 field
codes - i.e. one field code inside another field code. Unless you do it this
way you'll receive an error message.

For example:

1. Press CTRL + F9
2. Type =(-1 )+
3. While the cursor is still inside the field, press CTRL + F9 again
4. Type NUMPAGES in the second field code.

This field code will work so long as you know how many pages there are
before your content page numbering starts.

The example below subtracts 1 from the total number of pages in your
document.

Page { PAGE } of { = ( -1 ) + { NUMPAGES } }
