'Temporary' contracts (or non-ongoing as the Australian Public Service calls them) normally provide all usual entitlements (sick leave, rec leave, super etc- only difference is that its a 'fix-term' appointment - not a 'forever' job. 'Non-ongoing' is very very popular in the ACT.
