Whoa Naomi K and Deborah C.

Your discussion triggers a memory of an earlier solution to a related pro=
blem.

Methinks I have it.

If you're talking relative versus actual file / drive / folder hyperlnks,=
=20which I think you are, this harks back to an issue that came up recent=
ly about Word 9 (aka 2000) putting in relative links to linked but not in=
cluded picture files.

Word will insert stuff like {INCLUDEPICTURE "..\\..\\..\\MEGPICS\\FlowCha=
rts\\SysOverview001.wmf \* MERGEFORMAT \d "} instead of {INCLUDEPICTURE "=
C:\\MEGPICS\\FlowCharts\\SysOverview001.wmf \* MERGEFORMAT \d "}.

(As always, save and back up the file concerned before trying this.)

So (in Word) go to Tools> Options > View (tab). Select Field codes: and =
click OK or press Enter.

Now go Edit > Replace (Ctrl+H) and replace all instances of "..\\..\\..\\=
=20with "C:\\ - where C:\ is the physical local drive address that you wa=
nt. Then go back to the Tools > Options > View (tab), deselect Field cod=
es: and click OK or press Enter.

Now go File > Print preview, press Ctrl+A (selects all) then F9 to update=
=20all fields.
(Your default Windows print driver should be your Acrobat printer for thi=
s to work / paginate properly.)

Accept the update for any content list update requests.

When finished, press Ctrl+S to Save.

Press Escape to exit the print preview mode.

Now create your PDF!

All the best,

Michael

Deborah,

Ironically, when I try this with the same Word and Acrobat versions, I=20
tend to get relative links, NOT absolute. This is about all I can offer =
-=20
you might try changing the Word hyperlinks to '.\doc1.doc' and see if=20
that works?
