I'm using the Huey on Ubuntu as well, I have a deb for that:

"deb http://ubuntu.pcode.nl/ubuntu hardy argyll"
or
"deb http://ubuntu.pcode.nl/ubuntu intrepid argyll"

That will give you access to a proper binary package for ArgyllCMS 1.0.3

Use at own risk, but it worked for me.
