Arachne at FreeLists---The Arachne Fan Club!

  Trying out new Belkin pcmcia network card while at hotel. Uses Realtek 8139
chip. Have card up and running using ne2000.com and a card
enabler. Could not connect via bootp. Called hotel tech support and had them
issue a static ip. Arachne says I am online and tech support sees my
packets coming through. Packet stats indicate all packets going out but
nothing coming in. Is it possible Arachne needs a router even when one
has a static ip? Below are config items as well as lantcp.cfg and wattcp.cfg:

        arachne.cfg

Connection READY
[tcp/ip]
IP_Address 10.255.220.78
IP_Grab IP address set to
NameServer 209.226.175.152
AltNameServer 209.226.175.236
Gateway 10.255.1.1
AltGateway 72.38.41.129
Netmask 255.255.0.0
TCPconfig lantcp.cfg

All numbers from tech support and they can see my packets coming through. Alt
Gateway is from hotel router, Gateway from isp. Changing
around was no change

Called a friend who I had setup Arachne on a cable modem. Used his wattcp.cfg
which is different from standard. Still nothing. Tech support could
not give me a domain name, but checking hotel gateway for host info gave me
domain name below. Don't believe I should need one with static.

        lantcp.cfg
netmask=255.255.0.0
gateway=10.255.1.1
nameserver=209.226.175.152
nameserver=209.226.175.236
domainslist="cgocable.net"
hostname=arachne
sockdelay=30
mss=1024

Do not believe I needed to add info in above file from arachne.cfg but tried it
anyway.  No luck!

        wattcp.cfg
# Text printed to screen (stdout).
#
#print = "Waterloo TCP/IP setup"  ; optional key/value
pkt.vector = 0x60   ; optional
my_ip = $(MYIP)
netmask = $(NETMASK)
nameserver = 209.226.175.152  ; secondary DNS, optional
nameserver = 209.226.175.236
gateway = $(REMIP)
domain_to = 0  ; optional
dynamic_host = 0  ; optional
inactive = 0  ; optional
datatimeout = 120 ; optional
debug = 0  ; optional
#mss = 1460  ; optional
#mss = 512  ; optional
# Default value is 1500.
#
#mtu = 1500  ; optional
#mtu = 552  ; optional

The other box with Arachne on cable seemed to go nowhere without a router but
am guessing on that. Can someone confirm this?
See anything I am missing?

        Cal
