Arachne at FreeLists---The Arachne Fan Club! > Any version 1.0 or 2.0 Links can be compiled with graphics. Until today, I didn't even realize links was up to v.1.0, never mind 2.x. You know how we dinosaurs get our systems working just like we like them, and then only minimally upgrade when absolutely necessary. That's why I still have my old RH 6.2 box running webserver and mailserver (both naturally patched beyond the final RH security rpm patches). Though I have switched arachne list reading and writing to the FreeBSD 5.4 box, using PINE 4.62 now. I forgot how much spam was being diverted by SpamAssassin. Time to work on that here soon. > It can also be compiled to run graphics on the console using > the svgalib driver or the framebuffer driver, plus it can > be compiled with SDL, and X drivers for X. I'm still working on FreeBSD svgalib. So far I've only got the default configuration running in vga mode. svgalib is supposed to include support for framebuffer mode, but it's not defaultly compiled in... Amazingly, neither is VESA! > All one binary. > You can have how many of those you want in it. If interested > also check out the 'Links Hacked Project'. They have their > own version.
