[ Dennis: Whew! Here's the final blast through. Inject where you'd like, I can fill in where needed with more dialog to blend any conversation. Otherwise, we'll be moving on.] Grizzly said: >> > "But can you imagine what a pair of gears armed with >> > Vibro rapiers could do in that section? Assuming that >> > they are properly coordinated." Scott?] "Damn," Silas called out, looking at his chronometer. "I appreciate your enthusiasm, but we need to complete this walkthrough and get moving. We're scheduled to be on the track in ten minutes. Let me blast through this, and we'll save any comments for afterward. OK." Silas exhaled. "Moving out of this section, you go through another corkscrew that ends with a ramp jump that spans 25 meters. That shouldn't be too hard for any of your gears if your speed is kept up. If you don't, well, you fall onto a heavy chain net that you'll be forced to climb out of. There are two other jumps every 100 meters. The last jump sends you flying into a tunnel not unlike the short one on the last tract segement. However, this one travels through one of the Oasis Towers straddling the fortress wall, the first of four. The tunnel is layed out with short pylons, forcing you to slalom your way through but not offering you much protection. This tunnel runs the diameter of the tower." Silas paused as he fast-forwarded the simulation to the next segement. "Once you're through this, the tunnel breaks into an array of four tubes, each able to accomodate two Gears side to side. Over the next 800 meters the tubes will crisscross and intersect every 200 meters, allowing you to weave your way past slower opponents or wrecks. After 800 meters, all these tubes converge sending you on a lateral circular loop along the inside perimeter of another Oasis Tower. As you can see, the track is open here so you'll need to watch yourselves against combat tactics here too." The simulation was moving at a swifter clip now. "After pleasing the wealthy crowds in the tower stands, you'll drop onto another open air segment of track roughly a kilometer in length that includes pillars, similar to the pillar strewn segment near the beginning of the race. This is followed by another lateral loop similar to the last one that drops onto another half pipe track that has a series of jump ramps similar to the shorter segemnt earlier. Roughly halfway through this track segment, the track will flatten out and you'll have a straight thoroughfare to the Oasis Tower holding the Pits. Once in the tower, combat is forbidden, and you do the whole run all over again." Silas exhaled, sounding a little out of breath from rushing through the last half of the course. "That's a crash course on the later part of the course. Any questions?" "This makes the Innsbruck, look like a country road," Billy offered. "This is Khayr ad-Din, kid," Silas answered, "not Innsbruck." [...] ************************** Dennis D.
