*Women's Group meets tonight at Gloria's - 5806 Thames Drive, 78723.*

*Sharing of Joys and Concerns from Sunday, May 18*

   - Sarah P. - was grateful for Janice helping her through a difficult
week. Concerned and glad about Veterans Administration being in the news
and hoping for better delivery of services and benefits to veterans.
   - Janice - Glad for friendship with Sarah. Janice and Steve had a good
trip to California last week to be with family and participate in a
   memorial for Janice's mother.
   - Stacy Vlasits. - Expressed appreciation to the church for support and
encouragement as they continue to parent Martin (autistic son). Had a
difficult experience at the ER last week as Martin reacted to medication
   change.
   - Pat H. - Glad to be part of a church family that can respond in
   supportive, loving ways.
   - Bob Knipe - a co-worker (school nurse) had heart surgery and is home
   recovering.
   - Stacey Borasky - concerned about a friend, Emma Lou Lynn, founder of
Pecan Street Festival, who has cancer.
   - Susan - Isabel and Susan have been sick this past week.
   - Liz - expecting third child in November! (Applause!)

*Report of May 18, 2014 Congregational Meeting*

   - First quarter financial report is positive. Giving has increased
   significantly.
   - The pledge drive for the new HVAC unit is doing well. We have about
$20,000 in pledges toward the $30,000 goal.
   - Pastoral Review report was shared with the congregation. Overall it
   was a very positive report.
   - The congregation voted 25 yes, 1 no, to call Pastor Lee Lever for
   another 3 year term.

*Delegates needed for the Western District Conference Annual Assembly, July
4-6, Lakeview Camp and Retreat Center, 5128 FM 66, Waxahachie TX 75167.*

Austin Mennonite Church is a member of the Western District Conference, one
of 21 area conferences belonging to Mennonite Church USA. WDC is holding
its Annual Assembly at the Lakeview Camp and Conference Center near
Waxahachie, Texas, about 3 hours north of Austin. We are looking for a
couple of delegates from the congregation to represent AMC at the WDC
Annual Assembly. There is lodging at the conference center and 8 miles away
in Waxahachie. The assembly is an opportunity to learn about the wider
church and connect with Mennonites from Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas and
Nebraska. The theme this year is "God With Us - Patient and Persistent."
Agenda at the assembly will be worship, workshops, delegate sessions, and
an overview of WDC. A resolution allowing congregations and pastors more
freedom in ministry, especially with the lgbt folks, will be presented to
delegates for discussion only. The plan will be to make take action at the
2015 assembly in Kansas City.

Contact Pastor Lee or Moderator Steve Hochstetler if you are interested in
attending or being a delegate. Pastor Lee will be traveling to Waxahachie
on Thursday morning, July 3, and returning on July 6, Sunday.
