As a general rule, most lettering I do over 1" tall I usually do as a fill stitch. (There are certain exceptions depending on the logo.) Some logos don't look good as a fill lettering. How tall is the lettering on this item? It could have been a tension problem when you were sewing the design. I take a look the back of every design I do when I'm trimming the excess backing to make sure the bobbin tension is correct. If it doesn't look correct, I stop production and do an "I" test and correct the issue. If you are not sure what an "I" test is, create 8 capital letter "i" in open block font with a color change in each letter. When it is done sewing, flip it over and you should have 33% - 50% bobbin showing on the back. If not your tensions are off.

I embroiderd a letter, width 0,28". But after washing it 1 time, the thread
came loose.
Is this letter to wide for a satinstich or should I look for the problem
elsewhere. How can I repair this ?

Who can give me some tips to avoid this ?

 Thanks !
 Cindy
