Roland,

You must be careful on how you address these changes with not only Melco, but other folks as well.

An "Upgrade" will take you up one or more levels with the software...i.e., Version 5 to Version, 6 to Version 7 and then to Version 9. There will be a charge for these upward steps.

A n "Update" will be a patch or improvement within a specific Version.  At the present time, there is no charge for these "updates".  So if you were speaking to the phone tech about an "Upgrade", he/she was right. There is no Upgrade" above or to Ver 9.

Ver 9 allows you to  check for any current "Update" to either DS  9 and/or OS  9 and download these "Update(s)" via the internet at any time.

The new XT (traded in the Big Red) came with DS9...and you've seen the
posts several others besides me have put up with the bugs...and I was told
by several other users that there IS an upgrade within DS9 to correct those
glitches. Tech I talked to said there was NOT and that according to his
records on my machine, we HAVE the latest version. Got the machine back 
in June, so I don't believe for a second that there hasn't been an upgrade/fix
to it in 4 months...not with all the problems being reported!

He never even asked me to look on the computer to read off what version
I did have...and then wouldn't talk about the second problem-just hung up
on me!
I'll deliver the XT to anyone within a days drive that will also wholesale 
the sewing for all the customers I have and don't want to discard...
have the dongle on it for multi heads...I would 'guess' the warranty being
only 4 months old should be transferable...but seeing how melco operates
now, I won't guarantee that...

Just tried calling Melco tech to explain the problems with DS 9...he said there
is NO upgrade to DS9 since I got mine back in april or may...not what I was told by
other amaya users...would not admit there WAS a problem or let me finish explaining..and then he hung up on me!
So...anyone want a 5 month old XT with only a couple hours on it, all the hoops, everything...Design Shop Pro+ 7 and (crappy) 9?
I've had it with Melco...this is the worst I've ever been treated! AND it took half an
hour to get the right 'number to push' to get through to a live person-I had to call
SALES and have them transfer me!
