You shouldn't have to but it wouldn't hurt to try just to see if its any 
better.  I think since I have been running the auto-feed I have switched 
back to manual maybe 2 times.

R/A is Robison-Anton.  I use mostly R/A thread and quite a bit of Madiera 
but the Madeira Metallic does not work well for me, I like the R/A Metallic.
