Aaron,
My threads pull out on everything, not just alphabets!!
Will this work for the designs as well??

  Thanks

BEHAVIOR: url(#default#VML) } In Design Shop go to Tools ....
Convert Alphabets Then towards the bottom is a box that says Remove Locks.
CLick that box. After you do this there should be no locks in the stock
embroidery fonts so its up to you to make sure your settings in lock/.trim are
correct.

To put them back in go to tools ..... restore alphabets (pretty sure this
is the right place)

  Aaron,

How do you take out the factory ties on the Melco fonts?

Usually part of the problem is improper tie ins and tie outs. On all my
Melco fonts I took out the factory ties and then add my own every time. THis
prevents having 2 tie ins or outs and ensures using ones I know work well.
Uncer Trim/Lock I use Tie In and Tie Off, Only when necessary. Tie In Type 3
with Num Stitches 4, Tie Out I use style 5 with Num Stitches 4 and I use a .25"
for the trim setting. These trim setting also are used for anything I
digitize.

Now if you are having problems on designs you had digitized and you can't
make adjustments cause they are dst files then your digitizer needs to work
with you to find settings that work. I rarely have this problem with digitized
designs and the ones I setup I rarely have the pullouts anymore either. The
above settings for tie's were given to me from a Melco tech who tested diffent
ones and found them to work best for him.

This is not the only cause of this problem but this seemed to help my
machines quite a bit. If your cutting knife is out of adjustment that could
cause it also. Other cause would probably be best for a tech to jump in.

Yup, me too! And on occasion, it doesn't cut at all and then the needle
breaks!! Yipee!! So, does anyone know how to keep this from happening????

This happens to me frequently. It appears as though the trim isn?t
completing before the tension on the thread increases causing the thread to pop
out of the needle when it finally breaks from the last stitch. Most annoying!

It is coming out immediately after trimming!

DLCompton@xxxxxxx wrote:
Is it coming out after the trim or when it starts to stitch again? If it's
the latter, check your inching stitch count (look under Settings, Machine); you
may want to increase it (e.g. if on 3, set to 5 or 7; if 5 change to 9).
