I had my original Big Red do something similar long ago...I had a tech call
scheduled so I asked him about it. It turned out the needle grabber bar was
hitting on the latch on the hoop arm that locks the hoop into place. The tech
gave it a very high-tech repair...he gently pushed down on the arms, bending
them down MAYBE one degree. I didn't have any more problems after that.
