This has nothing to do with Needle Depth.

thread feed limits refers to the amount of thread that the rollers allows for 
each stitch
while the machine is set to auto actifeed.

lower thread feed set to 5 will allow no less then 5 to be expelled for every 
stitch an upper thread limit of 5 would allow no more then 5 to be expelled.

Amaya's do not use friction tensioning they expel the amount of thread for 
every stitch and adjust the amount on the fly for every stitch while on auto 
actifeed.
