Acti-feed settings, regardless of whether it is Sandard or Auto Acti-feed 
relate to material thickness.

The rule of thumb is that an Acti-feed setting of 1 is equivalent to 1 sheet of 
typing paper in thickness, 2 is two sheets, 3 is three sheets and so on.

The thicker the material, the more thread that is needed to keep the thread 
laying on top of the garment, rather than trying to pull it through the 
material.
