I'm a newbie and want to ask someone WHY A BOBBIN CASE FOR MY BERNINA 200E COST
ME $90.00 purchased from my dealer - who I know and love - and highly doubt
they are taking an unreasonable markup. I fully expect this is at the
wholesale level.
They are identical to the bobbin cases that came with my Big Red. In reading
your helpful posts here - I learned the Bernina cases work in the Amaya - which
they do - no problem - and only just switching to the 16 needle Amaya a month
or so ago, knowing they now make the new Bernina 16 needle - so I was thrilled
to know I could use some of my existing Bernina supplies.
I just - for anyone with time to comment - would like to know why this is what
they are charging their customers when it appears here - the identical bobbin
cases are about 5 bucks. I know our dollar is poor compared to US right now
but not that much!! I still have the price tag on the packaging as I didn't
want to trust my memory and yep - we paid $90.00 + 12% for our tax.
Could it be I was sold a handmade lifetime lasting, state of the art, one of a
kind, produced only by mountain dwelling monks on the first second Tuesday of
every third leap year and this is why I was charged this? Please tell me it's
SUPER special and I just haven't - yet again - felt completely gouged?
I genuinely hope there is a valid reason, I am unaware of - maybe some special
tensioning feature I need training on? At least that would make me feel
better.
Would anyone seriously know if there a specific difference between the $90.00
and the $5.00 cases?
