I use a 3" piece of tear away in the center and a long piece as usual. And I
make cuts in the crown side of the stabilizer . For some reason that extra
short piece adds a lot of stabilizing to the hat. The 3" piece is actually the
left overs from the previous hat. So I don't have to cut a new piece. It
works like a charm.
