Yeah, Madeira spools are a pain, don't even arrive all the same model. I asked
Madeira about that once and they said "that's just the way the come from the
factory".
I use different DIY methods of fitting them to the XT's pins like stuffing
backing inside the spool, breaking off the inner plastic tab on some Madeira
spools that makes them ride high. I always raise the spool to maixmum height
too. I have had problems haveing the thread get under the spool and wind itself
in a mess, but 99% of the time, they do fine.
I like them for their fashion trend color matching possibilities. Also my
supplier is very reliable which is top of list for me.
