Aaron, I have never heard of a split satin stitch before. I looked at my
options in Design shop for lettering in the column tab and do not see that
option. Could it be labeled as something else?

I use 1.5 - 2" Letters (Brush script is always nice) with a split satin
stitch cause its a little less stitches than fill and has a nicer finished
look in my opinion. Most of the time I use no backing with solvy on top
unless lots of stitches then I will use a tearaway or cutaway according to
whats appropriate.
