the weight on tshirts and shirts is figured on something like the 'per square 
foot' of material or something...and has nothing to do with how 'thick' the 
material is. 100% cotton is almost twice as thick as the same weight 50/50 
material, just the 'loft' of the fibers I guess.
The Port Authority shirts are also cut larger and longer, so holding a large 
teeshirt against a large Gildan feels a lot heavier...yet holding the two 
fabrics together-you'd swear one is the 6 oz. and the other is an 8 oz. or 
heavier. And if you get a chance to get one of the Duluth Trading Co. 
teeshirts-WOW those are heavyweight-but they don't sell wholesale.
